Face to face registration of patients

For other ways of registering patients, see the registration page.

Face to face identification is either through checking a patient’s photographic identification, or through a professional who already has a legitimate relationship with the patient to vouch that they know the patient.

For photographic identification, an employee of the organisation sees the patient - or the carer of the patient seeking access to the patient's record - and checks their photographic identification, including:

  • passport
  • driving license
  • citizen card
